About the NSMA

The National Social Media Awards was founded back in 2019 with the ambition of unilaterally combining one awards ceremony for all the Social Media Platforms which we use every day. Individual social media platforms have their own version of awards but there is none that unify all the platforms into one annual awards ceremony. As time progressed and covid hit the world hard it became clear that the first edition of the NSMA was going to have to wait until later on in the Pandemic. This meant that we could work on various editions and not just the London NSMA. Consequently, with time we realised that actually social media could not just be represented in one region and that we needed to host the NSMA in each continent of the world where possible. 2022 we have the aim of hosting London, Los Angeles, and announcing the date for Dubai and the NSMA in Africa for 2023. 

London celebrated its first edition on Wednesday the 27th of October in the urban tunnels of London Waterloo train Station where we had over 600 guests in attendance. As London was such a massive hit with users we decided to go ahead with the Los Angeles first edition held on Wednesday the 26th of January at the Globe Theatre, South Broadway, CA, 90014. 

Every single day the 4.57Billion individuals use social media with the average user having at least 7 different profiles. Brands and services also use social media every day and spend millions on their online marketing efforts. That means in terms of the space the NSMA has created there is a huge market for brands to be able to partner with the NSMA to expose their brand even more to the public. 

The NSMA is not just about working with brands and increasing exposure but it’s about bring brands closer to the users but also creating recognition for the millions of influencers that work hard with various brands and have create a positive reputation for themselves.
